Natural Reserves Advocate
Christopher’s life’s purpose is to create and help protect natural reserves around the world. At 8 years-old he created his first environmental projects. When he was 14 he presented his first lectures at universities, and spent his weekends advocating for environmental initiatives, including local authorities and foundations in institutional coalitions.
When he was 15, his first book was published by a university, and that same year he celebrated his 30th opinion article published by a newspaper.
At 22 he already lectured around the world, at some of the world’s most prestigious universities, and at high-level international events.
Today, at 32, he has published 21 books and presented over 140 lectures, talks and workshops in 14 countries.
He has been conducting his own environmental research since he was a child. Learning from the families and communities directly affected by serious environmental and social challenges around the world has been the most enriching experience for him. All this led him to create his own natural reserve, which he called NON-SUCH Reserve.
He is an enthusiastic polyglot that keeps learning 13 languages, which has helped him to truly immerse himself in every country he has developed projects in, and which also made him realise that if we really intend to get communities on board for the protection of nature, we need to address their cultural background and their belief system. This is why one of his main lines of research is comparative religions, for he thinks that world religions can help us advance the environmental agenda in extraordinary ways. The same applies to modern non-religious spiritual and philosophical movements: if we manage to touch the belief system of a person, we can impact the course of that human’s relation with the environment.
Languages and curiosity about how to engage every country in the fight against Climate Change have opened many doors: he has been invited to advise national & local governments, companies, foundations, International Organisations and political leaders over the years. Up to now, he has directed / supported social and environmental projects in 30 countries, which helped him build a truly global network.
In 2020 co-founded AI for Climate, an ambitious initiative that aims to protect natural reserves with Artificial Intelligence (forclimate.ai), and enable the training of AI algorithms to scale up conservation efforts globally.
